Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Soraya Seedat is well-known internationally for her outstanding research contributions to the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders. Within an African context, she has demonstrated the relevance of the interaction between genes, gene expression and environmental factors. In this trend-setting breakthrough she has combined biomedical science with issues from humanities and the social sciences. In collaboration with her German host, she will detail the gene-environment interaction through epigenetic, genetic, and brain imaging research in order to model the genesis of mental disorders.
Professor Seedat will be hosted by Professor Thomas Elbert and Dr. Roland Weierstall at the University of Konstanz. |
